Tuk tuk through Alfama and Chiado, shopping down Avenida da Liberdade, or nothing at all. No plan required.

Oceanário

Oceanário de Lisboa out in Parque das Nações — one of the largest in Europe. Half a day, easy pace.

Yacht day, Cascais

Cascais is the Portuguese Riviera — an old fishing town the royals made their summer spot, forty minutes west. Cobbled streets, a cliffside sea arch, galleries tucked inside a fortress, a marina built for a long lunch. Small enough to figure out without trying.

9:15 AMDownstairs, ready to go — private driver takes us door to door.

10—12:30Old town, the Cidadela, Boca do Inferno.

12:30Lunch by the marina before we board.

1—5 PMPrivate catamaran along the coast — swim stop and deep sea fishing on board. Water runs 64–66°F, so bring a cover-up; it gets chilly once the sun drops.

5:30 PMDriver back to Lisbon. Evening's open — nightcap if anybody's still up.
